Kelly Tractor’s history dates to 1925 when E.E. ”Pop” Kelly moved from Kearney, Mo.,  to Daytona Beach as a representative of the Holt Manufacturing Co. Later that year, Holt merged with the C.L. Best Tractor Co. to form Caterpillar Tractor Co., and Pop joined McDonald and Burgman, the Central Florida dealer.

Pop moved to Clewiston in 1928 and became director of the local branch office, known as the Clewiston Motor Co. He soon purchased Clewiston Motor Co. and became the Caterpillar dealer for South Florida.

Many decades later, Kelly Equipment remains a leader in ensuring its Florida customers have the right equipment at the right time and for the right price. Today, Kelly Tractor and its affiliates employ more than 500 people in South Florida and more than 150 of them provide parts and service support. The company is headquartered in a 240,000-square-foot complex in Miami, with branch locations in Davie, West Palm Beach, Clewiston, Fort Myers, Orlando (Nissan forklifts and Link-Belt cranes, and Mulberry (IMT drill rigs, Link-Belt Cranes).
