Ag Technologies LLC – Precision agriculture consultants

In 2004, Georgia crop consultant Brian Kelly saw a need among his customers. They had been asking him about new technology known as precision agriculture that could help them be more efficient and save money in their production practices. Ag Technologies LLC was born so Kelly could help growers take full advantage of all the technology offered.

Ag Technologies became a reseller of Trimble GPS products and over the years, the business grew, adding people and resources so that today it is the largest Trimble reseller in North America. (

“Trimble is one of the most experienced GPS companies in the business,” said Robbie Tabb, a senior sales representative from Cordele, Ga., where the company is headquartered. Ag Technologies covers the southeastern United States for the agribusiness division of Trimble, a globally traded company based in Sunnyvale, Calif.

“For Florida growers, we tend to focus on water issues,” said Andrew Bryan, Ag Technologies’ Region 5 manager based in Sebring.  “For growers, the issue is either too much water or not enough. We provide solutions to assist in the management of water. We offer 2D and 3D land-preparation solutions, sub-inch precision guidance to plant their crop, and application control for putting the right amount in the right place at the right time,” he said.

In addition to the agribusiness, Trimble technology can be found in consumer and commercial vehicles, construction equipment, military applications and more. Innovative applications include dispatching and managing fleets, surveying and building roads, monitoring and mapping earthquake damage, recording and synchronizing international financial transactions, and improving the efficiency of wireless communications networks.

Ag Technologies provides a diverse spectrum of products but focuses on personal relationships, Tabb said.  “In a business like agriculture, our sales technique is to become the precision agriculture consultant for our customers,” he said. “Our job is not to go out and hard sell something. It’s actually to ask questions and find out what the grower’s needs are and then show that grower the technology that is available that can fit their particular operation. ‘One size fits all’ does not work in this business. We custom-fit the technology that’s available to each grower.”

Bryan names cost of inputs as his customers’ biggest area of concern. “A major necessity in any operation is to become as efficient as possible,” he said. “With the high costs of inputs, including equipment, fuel, fertilizers and water, growers need someone to provide them with the management tools to reduce the burden of all those inputs and increase efficiency across an operation. That’s what we do. We are the precision ag consultants. We don’t sell tractors or fertilizer. Our goal is to be a consulting resource and a partner with each customer.”

Ag Technologies continues to grow and diversify. In the past year it has expanded into new subsidiaries to handle data management, technical consulting and more. Learn more on its website. Florida growers may also contact Andrew Bryan at 941-725-8046 or via email at
