FFVA past president newest member of the Florida Agricultural Hall of Fame
George H. Wedgworth, FFVA past president (1965-67), joined a select group of agriculturalists when he was inducted into the Florida Agriculture Hall of Fame at the 16th Annual Florida Agricultural Hall of Fame dinner on February 15, 1994.
Mr. Wedgworth joins three other FFVA past presidents in the Hall of Fame. They are Andrew Duda, Jr. (1953-55), Vance Vogel (1975-77) and Peter S. Harllee (1977-79).
Mr. Wedgworth was one of four men honored for their lifelong contributions to Florida agriculture during a reception and banquet at the Florida State Fair in Tampa.
Mr. George H. Wedgworth (left) is pictured with his mother, Ruth Springer Wedgworth, after being inducted into the Hall of Fame. This marks the first time a second-generation family member has been inducted in the Hall of Fame. Mrs. Wedgworth was honored in 1988. She also was an active member of FFVA since its formation in 1943, playing an active role in the growth and success of the association.
