39th Annual Convention back to The Breakers
Invitations will be mailed shortly to Florida Fruit & Vegetable Association’s 39th Annual Convention, which will be held Sept. 22-25 at The Breakers, a well-known landmark of Palm Beach and a favorite resort hotel of FFVA convention-goers.
A number of informative sessions are planned for delegates attending the convention, including workshops on federal legislation affecting agriculture – the Omnibus Immigration Control Act and the Caribbean Basin Economic Recovery Act. Also featured will be a look at FFVA’s Intermodal Program, assessing the first year of operation.
The 39th Annual Meeting will begin on Thursday, Sept. 23, with registration in the morning and with the welcoming luncheon at noon to officially kick off the convention.
In addition to business sessions, a number of social functions are planned for delegates, including the Citrus Breakfast, sponsored again this year by the Florida Citrus Commission; a western-themed barbecue; and the Annual Banquet, a festive event that will climax the convention on Friday evening.
Recreational opportunities abound at The Breakers for the enjoyment of hotel guests. Specific activities have been scheduled by the association on Friday, Sept. 24, and include a men’s golf tournament to be played on The Breakers Ocean Course, a tennis round-robin, and a non-golfers’ putting tournament.
Additionally, social events have been planned for spouses attending the convention, including shopping on Worth Avenue, the world-famous Palm Beach shopping area.
